Ingredients
For the Meat
- 1 lb ground beef 80/20
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne optional
- 1/2 cup water
For Serving
- 8 small corn tortillas warmed
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 diced tomato
- Sour cream
- Fresh cilantro
- Lime wedges
Directions
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add all spices and stir to coat the meat.
- Add water and simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or directly over a gas flame.
- Serve meat in tortillas with your choice of toppings.
Notes
- Double-stack soft tortillas so they don't break.
- Make it a taco bar and let everyone build their own.
- Leftovers are great for taco salads the next day.
